Related Projects

Within CIRCMAN5.0, collaboration is recognised as a key driver of innovation and progress toward circular manufacturing. As part of this commitment, the EU Circularity Cluster has been established, uniting projects funded under the HORIZON-CL4-2024-TWIN-TRANSITION-01-05 call that focus on related themes. Together, these initiatives are building a strong network to advance circularity across Europe and support the sustainable transformation of manufacturing systems.

DATA4CIRC

The DATA4CIRC project will establish a digital framework utilising federated data spaces, Digital Product Passports, Digital Models, and AI-assisted Life-Cycle Assessments to enhance the traceability of products and predict environmental impacts of their life cycles. It will focus on three high-impact sectors: agricultural plastics, electronics, and the automotive industry. In all of this, DATA4CIRC will take a human-centred approach, building skills and increasing human involvement through social innovation.

PSS-PASS

The PSS-Pass project is developing a Digital Product Service System Passport (DPSSP) to enhance circularity in manufacturing by incorporating service data and utilizing cutting-edge technologies like Machine Learning and Digital Twin technologies to help companies track and improve their environmental footprint, and these solutions will be validated through pilot studies in three diverse sectors: home appliances, complex equipment, and the textile industry.

Digi4Circular

Digi4Circular is a Horizon Europe project tackling the environmental impact of the automotive sector, which is responsible for 14% of global greenhouse gas emissions and consumes vast amounts of raw materials, particularly aluminium. By promoting the use of secondary aluminium and embedding circularity principles into product development, the project aims to significantly reduce emissions and material waste.

GEAR-UP

GEAR-UP is committed to speeding up the shift towards sustainable and efficient manufacturing and design by creating innovative manufacturing technologies that use high amounts of recycled materials. Through advanced research, we will tackle critical challenges related to lightweight materials, life-cycle analysis, and increasing the use of recycled content. GEAR-UP sets ambitious goals for enhancing sustainable product design through innovative simulation and modeling software.

DIAMETER

DIAMETER aims to promote the transformation of metal manufacturing by creating an innovative 1circular economy framework powered by advanced additive manufacturing technologies. The project addresses one of Europe's most pressing challenges: reducing the environmental impact of the manufacturing sector, which currently accounts for 20% of greenhouse gas emissions in Europe.

ENCIRCLE

ENCIRCLE proposes a novel framework for environmental impact assessment via Digital Twins and Soft Sensors, incorporated in a virtual production line. Utilizing this virtual environment as a simulation and training space for AI. ENCIRCLE integrates Human-in-the-Loop methodologies, where humans and AI collaborate symbiotically to optimize manufacturing processes for minimal environmental impact.
