The Green Deal Dataspace e. V. (GDDS) is an open, federated data ecosystem and internationally oriented, cross-domain data space. It enables users from all sectors to provide their own solutions or to access and use resources – especially data – for their own projects, with a focus on resilience and sustainability. The Green Deal Dataspace is a non-profit organization supported by the association founded in 2023.
Data plays a central role in achieving the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). But data can only contribute to solving the global challenges of the future if it is easily available and can easily be shared. Reliable and secure access to and handling of data is therefore central to a sustainable social future. Green Deal Dataspace e. V. initiates and supports collaborative, data-based innovations that support the UN’s SDGs and lead to an ecologically compatible and socially just development.
The association “Green Deal Dataspace” created a universally accessible IT infrastructure and data ecosystem in which data-sharing projects can be developed, and data can be exchanged and shared in a reliable and secure manner. The underlying principles are the preservation of sovereignty over one’s own data, a reliable partnership while ensuring security and privacy on the basis of defined standards. The result is a secure data space accessible to the general public for the future exchange, processing and use of data and applications based on it in the cross-domain fields of resilience and sustainability.
In Circman5.0 the Green Deal Dataspace takes the role of a Data Space Expert, Promoter of the project and Infrastructure Provider. The cross-domain aspect of GDDS facilitates a seamless integration of platforms such as the Circman5.0 Collaboration Space, services and tools created by the partners of Circman and moreover works as a perfect testing ground for any kind of data related innovation.
At GDDS we believe in the value of data, be it material data to gather insights where energy consumption could be reduced or data directly from the production process to enhance sustainability and circularity capabilities. With Circman5.0, the Green Deal Dataspace as a non-profit organization is thrilled to complement an exciting consortium of PV manufactures, universities and research institutions. On top of that, GDDS disseminates the project results to the wider business community, including GDDS’s own members and key data space communities worldwide. By showcasing the real business value of Circman5.0, GDDS continues to raise awareness of this trailblazing project.
