The consortium’s fifth plenary meeting focused on project progress, final-year priorities and preparations for the upcoming project review.
Milan, Italy – 13–14 October 2026
The CIRCMAN5.0 consortium gathered at Politecnico di Milano on 13–14 October 2026 for its fifth plenary meeting. Partners came together to review progress across the project, strengthen collaboration and coordinate activities to achieve the project’s target key performance indicators (KPIs) during its final year.
Advancing Innovation Solutions for Photovoltaic Manufacturing
Partners presented updates across all work packages, covering key areas of innovation for a more circular and sustainable photovoltaic (PV) value chain, including:
Digital twins for PV production
Eco-design approaches to support more sustainable manufacturing
Circularity assessment tools to evaluate circularity across the PV value chain
AI-driven methods to support innovation in PV manufacturing
Data governance across the photovoltaic value chain
These discussions helped partners assess progress, identify priorities and coordinate the next steps towards the integration and further development of the project’s Innovation Solutions.
Exploration Workshop Strengthens Collaboration
A highlight of the meeting was an Exploration Workshop led by the Institute for Energy Technology (IFE). Working in mixed groups, partners explored ways to refine the project’s Innovation Solutions, strengthen integration between work packages and identify actions to accelerate progress towards circular, AI-enabled photovoltaic manufacturing.
The collaborative format encouraged knowledge exchange and helped align partners on the work needed to deliver the project’s objectives.
Preparing for the Final Year
With the project entering its final year, the meeting focused on achieving the target KPIs, reviewing progress against key objectives and coordinating preparations for the upcoming project review. The discussions provided an opportunity to align plans, clarify priorities and reinforce collaboration across the consortium.
The first day concluded with a social dinner organised by TTS, giving partners an opportunity to connect and exchange ideas in an informal setting.
The fifth plenary meeting marked an important opportunity for the CIRCMAN5.0 consortium to strengthen its collective efforts towards more circular, intelligent and sustainable photovoltaic manufacturing.
